Negotiated Skills Development (NSD)
IT
is one of the courses in MSC Information and Technology (IT Management) which
is focused on a skillset that I’m interested to learn.
Rationale
For
this course, I’ve selected to learn and implement the strategic design process
in website design. These days, websites are designed and developed which follow
the latest design trends and looks awesome but fail miserably in their intended
function (like revenue generation through sales, user interaction, etc.).
Some
of the common problems of website these days are
i.
Navigation
that is not clear
ii.
Content
that lacks engagement
iii.
Website
with poor representation and integration of brand, etc.
And
based on my research, implementation of strategic design process in website
design can help to accomplish the intended business objectives/goals.
In
order to design the website with the implementation of strategic design
process, I need to learn about the things like strategic design process,
website design principles, brand identity design, color psychology, etc. Thus,
following contract has been prepared for the module

Since, I already know
HTML, CSS and bootstrap, I’ll learn advanced things that might be needed to
develop the website strategically via online courses, YouTube tutorials and
google (stackoverflow, w3schools, etc.)

A website,
implementing all the factors discussed above will be created and presented in
the class and also in the blog.
